MN GOP Statement on Schools

Edina, MN – Recent news reports show that the long-term effects of Democrat-led shutdowns are costing families hard-earned cash and holding students back academically.

According to The Star-Tribune, “…demand for tutors is skyrocketing as schools and parents seek to help students close the learning gaps that resulted from months of online- only instruction…”.

“This latest news shows the sad consequences of the shutdown policies pushed by Gov. Tim Walz and the Democrats,” Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman David Hann said. “Republicans have long said that kids needed to be in school learning. Democrats like Gov. Walz kept kids out of school to placate their political allies like teachers unions and Minnesotans suffered as a result. Our state deserves better than politicians that play petty games with our kids’ futures.”
