MN GOP FILES COMPLAINTS AGAINST DEMOCRAT PARTY FOR ILLEGAL SLATE CARDS

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Republican Party of Minnesota has filed complaints with the Office of Administrative Hearings regarding Democrat Party slate cards that illegally call for the reelection of candidates that have never held office.

“The closer we get to Election Day, the more we see desperate and illegal tactics from Democrats who know they’re about to lose their elections. These latest instances of illegal campaign literature being distributed to deceive voters are a clear violation of state law. Minnesota voters deserve better.” – Republican Party of Minnesota Communications Director Nick Majerus

The Minnesota DFL has been distributing slate cards that illegally call for the reelection of candidates for Congress who have never held the office. Minnesota state law prohibits the use of the term “reelect” unless the candidate is an incumbent.
