HANN CALLS ON WALZ TO STAY IN MINNESOTA, CANCEL JAPAN JUNKET

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman David Hann issued the following statement calling on Governor Tim Walz to cancel his upcoming trip to Japan and instead stay in Minnesota and work to address school safety:

“Governor Tim Walz should immediately cancel his junket to Japan and stay in Minnesota to address the immediate and growing safety problem in our schools.

Our schools are less safe today due to the Minnesota DFL’s extreme, single-party control, and their zealous anti-police agenda has put students, teachers, and staff in danger.

With more and more law enforcement agencies being forced to remove their school resource officers and school violence erupting in Governor Walz’s hometown of Mankato, it’s understandable why he would want to flee the country.

But our Minnesota students deserve better; they deserve a governor who doesn’t leave them unprotected while he jet sets to Japan.

The dangerous reality of this legislation is why the Minnesota DFL cannot be trusted with the single-party rule.

Minnesotans should look forward to balance and common sense returning to government when Republicans win back the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2024.”
